Review: Nature's Gate Velvet Moisture Liquid Soap

When I was little, we used bar soap at our bathroom sinks. I remember hardened bars of soap, collecting bits of grime in the cracks. Or sometimes it was the opposite, where the soap bar would be gooey and falling apart. If you'd rather avoid these situations, I recommend trying a liquid hand soap. One cruelty-free, vegan option is Nature's Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Velvet Moisture Liquid Soap.

Pros:
  • Lovely pomegranate scent
  • Convenient and sanitary pump bottle
  • Affordable
  • Widely available at many retail stores
  • Avoids many of the harshest chemicals
  • Performs much like traditional liquid hand soaps
  • Lathers well
  • A little goes a long way
Cons:
  • Could be a little gentler
Summary:
This Pomegranate Sunflower Velvet Moisture Liquid Soap performs just as well as conventional hand soaps.  I was glad to see that it is suitable for vegans and was happy to hear that my man liked the scent. However, it rates a moderate 5 on the EWG Skin Deep scale, mostly due to fragrance and a few other ingredients that rate in the 3-4 range. I would love to see this soap reformulated to be a bit more gentle. However, it is a good alternative for those who are used to conventional hand soaps and want something more natural.
