Review: Jurlique Calendula Cream

One of the most common products that I'm sent to review is moisturizer. There are dozens of body lotions that work well, but I always look for what sets each one apart. Jurlique, for example, has a calendula cream that is specifically designed to be calming for skin that is sun-exposed, irritated, or otherwise sensitive.

Pros:
  • A little goes a long way
  • Very hydrating
  • No real scent
  • Soothing on sun-exposed skin
  • Suitable for most with sensitive skin
  • Gentle ingredients
Cons:
  • Fairly expensive
Summary:
I loved how this cream was non-greasy and absorbed quickly into my skin. It is thicker than other creams and has a yellow color. A small dab is very hydrating. It has a soothing effect on skin - providing moisture without any "cooling" effect that sometimes can exacerbate issues. I was glad to see that this rated a fairly low 3 on the EWG Skin Deep database, but I'd love to see this made vegan with the removal of ingredients such as honey. At $37 for 1.4 oz, this isn't a "bargain" cream, but it is gentle on most sensitive skin and one tube should last awhile. If you have sensitive skin and are having trouble finding a moisturizer, this gentle one may be worth a try.
