Review: Manic Panic Eye Wear Shadow and Liner

UPDATE: This line has been discontinued.

When I work with brides, I love the precise application I can get with cream and gel eye liners. As a makeup artist, I am unable to use many liquids because it is hard to apply with a clean brush, but creams and gels are much easier. Vegan formulas for these types of liners can be hard to find, so I was excited to try Manic Panic's Eye Wear Creme Eyeshadow and Liner.

Pros:
  • Liner has a nice, creamy texture
  • Set includes the cream and a powder to set it
  • Generous amounts of product
  • Nice packaging
  • Long-lasting wear
  • Affordable
Cons:
  • Contains parabens
Summary:
This set comes in a narrow case with a lovely design. There is even a mirror to assist with your application. The liner has a nice, creamy texture. I recommend setting it with the eye shadow for better staying power. The eye liner rates a low 2 on the EWG Skin Deep database, while the eye shadow rates about a 5, mainly due to the use of fragrance and propylparaben. I would love to see the eye shadow reformulated to be more gentle, similar to the liner. This set is priced quite reasonably, so you could also buy it just for the cream liner if you have safety concerns. If you're looking for a gentle cream liner, Manic Panic has a nice option in this set.
