Review: Manic Panic Lip Locked Lipstick

Lipstick in Tarnished
So you love vegan lipsticks, but you're tired of the same old natural lip colors? Sometimes, peaches, pinks, corals, and reds just aren't enough. Whether it's for Halloween or just your personal sense of style, there are some vegan lipsticks out there in awesome, unusual colors like purple, black, and gold. One such line? Manic Panic Collection Lipstick.

Pros:
  • Smooth, creamy texture
  • Available in several fun hues
  • Offers a black - perfect for Halloween
  • Affordable
  • Fun packaging
Cons:
  • Uses preservatives like parabens and BHT
Summary:
This lipstick glides on smoothly. The tarnished shade is like liquid antique gold, and as glittery as you'd expect. I was glad to see that unusual shades such as black and purple are offered, too. This lipstick is available for the very affordable price of $8. However, I was disappointed to see that it contains ingredients such as parabens and BHT, which bring its rating to a moderately high 6 on the EWG Skin Deep database. I'd love to see this lipstick formulated to be more gentle. However, if you need a vegan lipstick for a costume or special event, I don't think the cumulative effect of these ingredients would be too great. If you are looking for vegan lipsticks in fun colors at an affordable price, Manic Panic has them.
