Review: Gud Foaming Hand Wash

Burt's Bees recently released a new line of products under the label Gud, in a few fun scents. They are packaged quite differently than other Burt's Bees items, with trendy designs and bright colors. While not all Burt's products are vegan, some are, and the company is cruelty-free. I decided to give their Foaming Hand Wash a try.

Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Available in many retail stores
  • Delightfully fruity orange scent
  • Comes in a foaming pump bottle
  • Contains a few organic ingredients
Cons:
  • May not be vegan (includes glycerin from an unspecified source)
Summary:
This foaming hand wash is a liquid, similar to castile soap, that foams well when pumped out. It lathers up a bit, but not quite as much as gel soaps. However, I found it still cleaned well and the fun fragrance wasn't overpowering. This rates a 4 on EWG's Skin Deep scale, though this is largely due to the use of fragrance. When I emailed the company about this product, they said none of their products were certified vegan. I would love to see a vegan version in the future, because the affordable price and good performance make this an otherwise good natural find.
