Review: Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Clarifying Toner

It might be common knowledge to wash your face, but people often skin one important step: toning. Toner helps remove any traces of makeup or dirt that you may have missed, and preps your face properly for moisturizer. Burt's Bees incorporated a toner into their Natural Acne Solutions line that uses salicylic acid to help control breakouts.

Pros:
  • Effectively removes oil
  • Non-drying
  • Can help heal blemishes
  • Pleasant citrus scent
  • Relatively affordable
  • Easy to find locally
Cons:
  • Can sometimes feel a little tacky after application
Summary:
This is a simple and effective toner that has a pleasant citrus scent. It seemed to work well as part of a skin care routine to curb breakouts. However, I was surprised to see that it rates a moderately high 6 on the EWG Skin Deep database, mainly due to the use of a fragrance of unspecified origin. However, if you want a more natural alternative to conventional salicylic acid toners, this is worth a look.
