Review: Korres Lip Butter

One of the first steps when I apply makeup on a client is to apply lip balm, as it helps hydrate even the driest lips to create a smoother lip color application. However, stick balms don't provide the most sanitary application, so I tend to prefer potted balms since it is much easier to scoop out a small amount and apply with a brush. One of the potted balms I've included in my kit is Korres Lip Butter.

Pros:
  • Soft, buttery texture
  • Easy to apply with a brush
  • Available in both tinted and sheer shades
  • Light, fruity scents
  • Retail availability
Cons:
  • More expensive than other balms
Summary:
This balm smells great and is very hydrating. I often used the sheerer shades of this lip butter on my female clients and reserved the plainer balms for the men. I love how this lip butter is formulated to be vegan. I was surprised to see this rates about a 4 on EWG Skin Deep database, but this is likely due to the use of an unspecified fragrance. The ingredients aren't the most natural-sounding, but otherwise are fairly gentle. As with all potted balms, I highly recommend applying with freshly washed hands. I like the range of colors, and enjoy the smooth application. If you are looking for a quality potted balm with fairly gentle ingredients and tinted options, this is a nice option.
