Review: Shikai Color Reflect Daily Moisture Conditioner

In recent years, hair products designed to for specific colors have gained popularity. ShiKai jumped on this trend by creating its Color Reflect line, which has shampoos to bring out one of four hair colors and a conditioner that works with them all. The conditioner is called Color Reflect Daily Moisture Conditioner.

Pros:
  • Creamy texture
  • Helps detangle hair
  • Mild scent
  • Suitable for all hair types
  • Safe for color-treated hair
  • Retail availability
Cons:
  • EWG rating raised due to use of fragrance
Summary:
This conditioner performed similar to many other conventional products I've used in the past. It helped detangle my hair, which is a very important factor in performance. It can also be used daily without weighing hair down. The ingredients seemed pretty gentle, but the EWG Skin Deep database rating was a 4, mostly due to the inclusion of a fragrance. ShiKai states that the fragrance is "natural," but EWG currently has no way to distinguish natural from chemical in their fragrance hazard rating, so I suspect this product would actually be rated closer to a 3. I love how it has no animal ingredients. If you're looking for a natural conditioner for daily use that performs similar to conventional products and can be found locally, ShiKai's daily Color Reflect conditioner is a good one to try.
