Review: Gabriel Color and Zuzu Luxe Lip Liner

Gabriel Lipliner in Red
As a makeup artist, a good lip liner is an essential component of my kit. Unfortunately, lip liners are often neglected in natural makeup lines - especially the reds. I sought out Gabriel's lip liners when searching for a true vegan red, and I wasn't disappointed.

Pros:
  • Vegan and gluten-free
  • Offered in a range of colors
  • Retail availability
  • Gentle formula
  • Smooth texture
Cons:
  • Price is a little high if purchasing multiple shades
Summary:
This lip liner has a smooth texture and sharpens well. I haven't had it break on me yet, which is a great sign. The red shade pairs well with Zuzu's Starlet lipstick - my favorite red. Between the Zuzu and Gabriel liners (which share the same set of ingredients), there is quite a range of color options. This pencil is quite gentle and rates a low 2 on the EWG Skin Deep database. The price is reasonable, especially considering that these can be found easily in many retail stores. If you're stocking up for a makeup kit, it's worth checking into the Gabriel Pro discount to see if you qualify. Regardless, Gabriel's lip liner is a great natural option.
